How to Refer to Student Victim Assistance
Student Victim Assistance is available by appointment and on a walk-in basis. When possible, appointments are encouraged in order to ensure that students are afforded all of the time that they may need. Faculty and staff may refer a student to Student Victim Assistance in one of three ways:
- Provide the student with the Student Victim Assistance phone number (404-413-1965) and location (75 Piedmont Avenue NE, Suite 239) and encourage the student to schedule an appointment.
- Contact Student Victim Assistance and walk a student to the office.
- With the student’s verbal consent, provide the student’s information so that Student Victim Assistance can provide follow-up contact.
Faculty or staff who are unsure whether or not a referral is necessary can contact Student Victim Assistance directly. Any faculty or staff member may contact Student Victim Assistance for questions, concerns or consultation at 404-413-1965. If a student discloses an incident of sexual misconduct or sexual harassment, faculty and staff should notify the student of their obligation as soon as they can.
