Below is a list of on and off-campus resources and support services for students who have experienced some type of victimization. Select the type of assistance needed from the list below to learn more about the resources available.

Counseling and Testing Center
The Georgia State University Counseling and Testing Center provides a wide range of counseling, testing, psychiatric, and holistic health services to support students as they work to reach their educational goals.
Grady Rape Crisis Center
Grady Memorial Hospital, Rape Crisis Center, provides free and confidential support to survivors of Sexual Assault.
Day League
Day League, formerly DeKalb Rape Crisis Center, provides direct services, prevention education and advocacy for youth and adult survivors of sexual assault, their families and the community as a whole. Day League ensures survivors of sexual violence forge a new beginning, not only to survive their ordeal, but also to become strengthened by it.
Student Health Clinic
The Student Health Clinic’s mission is to meet the healthcare needs and provide quality care to enrolled students. Their services include laboratory test, primary care, urgent care, women’s health care, dispensed medicine, immunizations and travel shots.
Day League

Grady Memorial Hospital Emergency Department houses a 24-hour rape crisis line and medical treatment center.
Student Victim Assistance
Student Victim Assistance is a central resource for any student who has experienced crime. Student Victim Assistance assists students in:
- Connecting to campus and community resources related to their specific needs
- Restoring control over their lives so they can thrive personally and academically
- Exploring all their options to alleviate some of the burden of navigating processes and resources by themselves
- Restoring a sense of normalcy through a supportive presence
Women’s Resource Center to End Domestic Violence
The Women’s Resource Center seeks to meet immediate needs for battered women and their children through a 24 hour hotline, emergency shelter and services and legal advocacy.
Criminal Justice Coordinating Council
The overall goal of the Victims Services Division is to advocate for victims to be informed and educated on services and programs, victims' rights and the criminal justice system. The primary function of the Victim Services Division is to provide financial assistance to eligible victims of certain crimes that have applied to the Georgia Crime Victims Compensation Program for assistance.
Tapestri
Tapestri Inc. is dedicated to ending violence and oppression in refugee and immigrant communities, using culturally competent and appropriate methods. As advocates for immigrant and refugee families affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and exploitation, Tapestri Inc. is committed to using education, community organizing, direct services and advocacy to improve the lives of those it serves.
Atlanta Legal Aid Society
Atlanta Legal Aid Society provides representation exclusively in civil (non-criminal) matters. Because of budget and staffing constraints, they prioritize the types of cases they take. Priority cases include housing, consumer fraud, public benefits, employment, education, health, spouse abuse and child custody cases.
Atlanta Bar Association
The Atlanta Bar Association is the largest voluntary bar association in the southeast with a membership of over 6000 members from twelve counties throughout the metro Atlanta region. Their mission is to promote professionalism and the fair administration of justice in their community, while also providing quality programs and benefits to their diverse membership.

Services for Pets in Domestic Violence
Ahimsa House is an organization dedicated to helping the human and animal victims of domestic violence reach safety together. They provide a 24-hour statewide crisis line, emergency shelter for animals of any kind in confidential foster homes or boarding facilities, veterinary care for pets with injuries and other health conditions due to the abuse, assistance in transporting pets to accompany their owners to safety (both within Georgia and across the country), pet food, payment of pet deposits in transitional housing and legal advocacy to assist victims.

Crime Victims' Compensation Fund
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council administers the Georgia Crime Victims Compensation Program, which helps victims and their families through the emotional and physical aftermath of a crime by easing the monetary impact placed upon them by providing financial benefits for expenses such as medical bills, loss of earnings, funeral expenses, mental health counseling and crime scene clean-up.
"Georgia State University policies prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, veteran status or disability. Discrimination includes any form of unequal treatment such as denial of opportunities, harassment and violence. Gender-based violence includes rape, sexual assault, unwanted touching, stalking, dating/interpersonal violence and sexual exploitation.
If you experience discrimination or gender-based violence, you are encouraged (but not required) to report the incident to the Georgia State University Office of the Dean of Students at 404-413-1515. If the incident involves a university employee, you are encouraged to contact the Opportunity Development and Diversity Education office at 404-413-3290.

For confidential assistance that does not require making a report, students may also contact the Student Victim Assistance office for advocacy and other support related to rape or power-based personal violence at or 404-413-1965. Crisis assistance is available after hours by calling the same number.

Hours of Operation
Student Victim Assistance is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. throughout the calendar year with the exception of university holidays.
After Hours, Weekends and University Closings
In case of emergency outside of normal business hours, on weekends and university holidays, call the Georgia State University Police Department at 404-413-3333 on campus or 911 off campus.
For non-emergency assistance, call Student Victim Assistance at 404-413-1965 and press "2" to speak with an on-call advocate. Student Victim Assistance staff will follow up on the following business day.
