Student Victim Assistance can assist students to determine their options and provide information related to their experience. Staff also are here to help students who have experienced any type of recent or past victimization regain a sense of control over their traumatic experience, so that they may resume their academic and personal pursuits.
The Counseling Center provides short-term, time-limited individual counseling sessions for students. Students attending ongoing individual counseling within the Counseling Center or Georgia State Psychology Clinic are also eligible to meet with a psychiatrist through our center.
Groups include a graduate student support group, a transgender support group, a coping skills group, a Black women’s support group, an LGBTQ support group and a group for students who have attempted suicide in the past.
Students who receive psychiatric services at the GSU Counseling Center (GSUCC) must be receiving counseling at either the GSUCC, the Georgia State Psychology Clinic, or UWill to initiate psychiatric services. Students are eligible for up to 5 psychiatric appointments.
