- Specializations
Dr. Phillips approaches clinical practice through a multicultural and social justice lens. Her therapeutic style is integrative and primarily grounded in feminist theory. Her goal is to empower her clients to reconnect to their authentic selves, honor their needs and wants, and live a life more congruent with their values. Dr. Phillips was a Presidential Graduate Opportunity Program Fellow at Auburn University and conducted research on the experiences of Black students in academia. She's been able to co-lead support groups for students of color and Black women during her training. Dr. Phillips area of clinical interests includes racial trauma, women’s issues, identity development, depression, and anxiety.
- Biography
Dr. Phillips is a proud native of Georgia. In addition to providing clinical supervision at Georgia State University's Counseling Center, she also serves as the Clinical Director at Connected Minds, a virtual mental health practice in the state of Georgia. Outside of work you can find Dr. Phillips enjoying different brunch spots and rooftops in the city, exploring dog parks and nature trails with her two fur babies, spending time with family and friends, and traveling the world with her other half.
