Dr. Qin works from a third-wave behavioral theoretical orientation with the integration of feminist and multicultural counseling perspectives. Dr. Qin's interests include working with the emerging adult population, professional development of trainees and emerging psychologists, emotional resiliency skill acquisition, intersectionality of Asian women, collectivistic values exploration, and intergenerational trauma in the Chinese-American community. Her clinical background includes intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) through Behavior Tech, LLC.
- Biography
Dr. Qin was born in Jiangxi, China, and has grown up and spent most of her life living in the American South. Dr. Jenny Qin serves as the training director for the APA doctoral internship at GSU CC. She has also been a Leadership Fellow through the Asian American Psychological Association and is a member of the CE Committee for the Georgia Psychological Association. Former cat foster mom, current allergy sufferer. Future aspirations include being a non-traumatic Asian Auntie ... "I serve sliced fruit and not judgment.”
