Hosea is very passionate about working with emerging adults who struggle with identity issues, self-acceptance, conflict resolution, and relationship distress (e.g., challenging family dynamics and romantic relationship obstacles). He also has a strong interest in working with the college population and members of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, which are both communities he is a part of.
- Biography
Hosea Rogers III (he/his) is a Florida native and intern working on his doctorate in Clinical Psychology. He received a B.S. in Public Management from Florida Atlantic University, an M.S. in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution from Columbia University, and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University-Sacramento.
In therapy, Hosea likes to take an affirmative therapeutic approach with his clients. He focuses on empowering, validating, and celebrating their identities, which may additionally include helping them discover and understand their complex identities. Hosea also utilizes narrative therapy techniques such as role-playing, re-authoring, and deconstruction to help clients confront difficult conversations, interpersonal conflicts, and internal battles.
Outside of Georgia State, Hosea enjoys replicating his family’s Southern recipes in the kitchen, binge-watching House Hunters on HGTV, and having FaceTime tea parties with his niece.
