Felicia’s therapeutic approach prioritizes acceptance, non-judgment, and growth by drawing from attachment-based theory (psychodynamic therapy) and other evidenced-based practices with holistic/alternative frameworks.
Felicia’s work is informed by intersectional and decolonized theories and politics such as Black Feminism Theory, Queer Sexualities, Fat Liberation, Ethical Non-Monogamy and non-hierarchical forms of relationships, Disability Justice, Sex Positivity, and Liberation Health Model. Felicia’s approach is not limited to these core components, they do influence her approach.
- Biography
Felicia Kanu is a Black queer cis woman, who holds space as a guide and a supporter. Felicia strives to make therapy accessible with clear, direct communication, warm energy, and pre-emptive radically inclusive stance. As a Master-Level Social Worker (LMSW), she is currently pursuing her licensure in the state of Georgia under supervision. During Felicia’s free time, she likes to read Webtoons, listen to epic anime openings/closing/ instrumentals, and watch YouTube videos. Felicia loves all things plushies, especially cute/kawaii ones.
